Continue adding details and wrapping up interactive resume. Both macs in my lab have soundtrack and are loaded with amazing sounds that are perfect for ambient and rollover sounds. Dante and Harley both know the process to copy the files to jump drive, see them if you need help.

Have a great day I'll be back tomorrow!

Student Portfolio Site Planning

1. Use godaddy.com to find your domain name

2. Find 4+ examples of portfolio sites for creative professionals (interactive, audio, web developer, video editor, etc.)

Create a blog post and paste the url of the site along with a screen cap of the site. Create one slide for each site you find (minimum of 4) One of the sites should be an example of what not to do (poorly designed site)

3. Find a definition of an artisits statement online and use it to write you own artists statement, you may need to reseach several styles before you find the one that fits you!

Post your artists statement to your blog

OSC Intern Position

Here's the message from OSC, take a look

I was hoping that South Western Career students might be interested in interning this year. Do you think it could be arranged again? They have been invaluable to the Center and our programs in the past.

Here is the info on this year's OSC Summer Programs. It is a great intern opportunity for those who have video/photography/web publishing experience. The interns would follow the both summer programs this year including: OSC Summer Institute and Young Women's Summer Institute attendees documenting the programs and reporting them on a daily basis with an online blog. Here is the info on the programs.

OSC Summer Institute - June 20 - July 2, 2010
http://www.osc.edu/education/si/
SI is a two-week residential program that gives gifted Ohio high school students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year project-based, hands-on learning. Working in small peer teams, the students use supercomputers for practical applications such as solving complex science and engineering problems, conducting network forensics to catch hackers, studying the spread of the bird flu and designing computer games.

OSC Young Women's Summer Institute - July 25 - July 31, 2010
Young Women’s Summer Institute (YWSI) is a week-long program sponsored by Ohio Supercomputer Center for middle-school girls in Ohio. It is designed to promote computer, math, science and engineering skills as well as provide hands-on experiences. YWSI helps girls develop an interest in these subjects by allowing them to work on a practical, interesting scientific problem using the latest computer technology.

Thanks again for all your help,

Ian

If you are up to the challenge please write a short letter stating your interest. Submit the letter to me by next TUESDAY the 13th.

This is an amazing opportunity and a great way to get real world experience at an amazing organization.
