Introduce yourself as a interactive media student.
Describe what you have learned across your first year.
What do you hope to learn next year?

2. Place the About Me text using photoshop on the main page (export the slice and add in DW) OR on another linked page.
3. Link your main page to your gallery, MAKE SURE that you have your gallery folder inside your web folder.
4. CREATE a new gallery of your planning information for this site (you may need to convert your comp ppt's to jpegs before doing this, it's a save as option! Place this gallery in your web folder.

2. Use photoshop to slice the document creating links for contact, about me and portfolio. Save as html and images using the appropriate file name for the first page for a website.
Save all of your web work to a folder named lowercase last and first initial example: fitzerd for Fitzer, Derek
3. Create a godaddy account with valid contact and login information. You will need this account to on Monday to complete your exam.
4. Use ALL REMAINING TIME to create an about me page (you can recycle elements from your main page). You will be graded on staying on task for the allotted exam period.

A little bit of prep will go a long way in helping prepare for the webxam test. There will be questions related to computer hardware concepts that you may or may not know. As a crash course you will need to make a review document in word and research the fundamentals of the following aspects of computer hardware and software systems:
1. How do businesses and individuals keep their information safe? Research and document bullet points related to computer backup procedures (10 bullets)
2. What are common computing platforms? They are composed of several related systems. Research. Define, and document bullet points related to computing platforms (10 bullets)
3. Information security is big business, even though interactive designers don't usually have to know the specifics they should understand the big picture of information security. (10 bullets)
4. Windows is not the only flavor of operating system. Research other operating system and include comparison and contrasting bullets (10 bullets)

Create a 2-6 page 8.5"x11" portrait orientation document using your existing capstone paper and project*
You should not be creating new content for this assignment. You can use images from your presentation PowerPoint or paper for the layout.
DETAILS / GRADING CRITEREA:
The document should present a visualy interesting and well composed "magazine" version of your capstone paper and project.
The appearance should be similar to the indesign duplication projects you recently completed. It should be appropriate for a news magazine such as Columbus Monthly.
The document should have one large anchor graphic or image for each spread of two pages.
The document should use line art and accent graphic to give the page design a unique identity.
You should have 1-3 images / graphics supporting each paragraph of the paper with a minimum total of 10 for the document. The images need to be relevant to project and support the ideas of the paper.
Use of font and font size should be balanced and appropriate for the subject.
The document should reflect guidelines of composition and design (rule of thirds, balance, etc.)
The student should be able to describe and talk about their design and the design process.
